The Secular View of Psalms

Since we have already discussed the suicide bombing reading in class yesterday, I thought I would do a post on the psalm reading. The paper seemed pretty straight forward, except for the details involving the complexity of the surveys, and brought about interesting correlations. One thing that struck me was how the paper highlighted that women who weren't as religious felt the power of saying the psalms more, than those who just added more psalms to the daily routine. What does this mean in terms of belief? Does the strength of ones belief wanes as they get accustomed to the traditions and rituals rooted in it? This is a thought that can expand past the psalms and maybe even offer another underlying structure at play.
