This article was actually pretty interesting, and brought to light some of the more hidden truths of conducting ethnographic field work. One thing that is striking is this battle that seems to have to go on between the more academic, social analyst side a person conducting the work has to take on vs. the side of the person with personal convictions about a certain group and their practices. It is hard not to let inherent biases affect how you view a situation, yet when actually writing the ethnography it seems like you are expected to present everything in a completely objective view.
